A quick note here to the entire community. I’d very much like to thank everybody for your patience and understanding this year. I’ve been at this many years now and although small changes here and there with investment products we can trade or financial industry regulation changes is normal, this past year has been one of the more dynamic I’ve gone through.
First we lost the XIV, my best friend since 2010, rest in peace. Then SVXY was chopped in half. Also because of the popularity of the Iron Condor strategy I’ve had a massive amount of interest in option trading. That suits me just fine as I started my career with options so we’re branching out there. Lastly we’ve had some of our European friends having issues with ETFs they can no longer access so I’m building solutions for them.
It’s been hectic to say the least but I promise you I’m working as hard as I can to get back to a more simplified presentation. Because I never do anything without fully considering it from all angles I do take my time. Also I believe in 100% transparency and investors fully understanding what they are buying so articles and videos and a slew of emails need to be answered before we finalize changes. But we’re getting there. The basic structure is still the same though:
1) Our core portfolio position through the Balanced Strategy. Everyone needs the bulk of their assets in something safe and profitable but to be honest there’s very little out there. Most people just hold stock indexes or balanced index funds such as VBINX but I’ve shown the performance of those many times and it’s not very impressive. As boring as the Tactical Balanced strategy is I’m very proud of it and I think it’s under-appreciated.
2) A supplementary growth strategy through volatility products of which you can choose one to match your risk tolerance. There will be three again soon that cover the full risk spectrum and you just choose the one that matches your goals and the access you have to the Vol products through your broker.
3) Option trading for further diversification and education. I’ve said it many times but with stocks and bonds both set to underperform over the next 10+ years or so we need some out of the box investing to succeed. While options trading certainly isn’t new, it’s actually been around for centuries as I will explain in a future video, it may be new to you so I’m trying to help you there by boosting portfolio performance and spreading out the risk.
We’re not active traders and despite the fact that I do daily blogs and regular videos with lots of supplementary education, the actual trade execution is still just a few minutes a day on average which is the point. Most people have busy lives and simply don’t have the time required to immerse themselves in the investing world. I’m here to work my butt off and ensure that all of you reach your retirement goals.
Nobody really likes change right, but in this fast moving world of investing it’s vital that we stay ahead of the crowd. And yes occasionally also just staying ahead of restrictive financial regulation…
The VTS Community is my life and I’m very thankful that it’s such a great group of people from all around the world. 38 countries now, amazing! It’s a blessing, thank you.
